Zr Tremolo

i Love this bridge, except for one thing, THAT DAMN ARM HOLDER, many owners would know that after a while it becomes loose and ****ty, im going to hopefully get my arm holder replaced with a schaller as written in the tech section. So to fix that problem would make the bridge the best floating tremolo imo.
Also something that woud be awesome would be s series guitars with neckthrough construction, that would be SWEET!

Re: Zr Tremolo

I'd love to have one on an RG. There's just nothing like having a 24 fret guitar with a really nice trem.

Yes and ball-bearing at the same time. I would consider Vigier but don't make lefties of their Excalibur .

Re: Zr Tremolo

The ZR tremolo would be REALLY cool if it came with a non-bushing bar like on the Edge Pro II/Edge III where the tension on the bar can be adjusted to the way you like it.

Re: Zr Tremolo

What's bad about ZR Trem Ozzdoc? do you think a ZR would fit in a TRS guitar with no routing, if not what about if I just had it floatin??? Thanks. Please advise

I think you need to do some routing because the ZR trem is a ball bearing tremolo and the TRS is a standard knife-edge trem

Re: Zr Tremolo

Except for the damn collar stripping, and the arm-holder actually shearing clean in two(!) it's quite a good trem....not as good as the Lo-Pro Edge imo tho.

Re: Zr Tremolo

I've never had a go at a ZR, but by design alone it's a good concept. Ibanez should look into redesigning the ZR to rival the Edge, or even someday replacing it. If not the current ZR someday in the future another zero resistance trem will hold it's own against an original Edge....wishful thinking mostly

Re: Zr Tremolo

i think the ZR is a great design. i played the s470 that has one and thought it felt very nice for even fairly inexpensive guitar. it seems like the amount of maintenance ( knife edge sharpen, post wear, etc) could be significantly lessened. i would like to see ibanez perfect it a bit more and add a 7 string version of it on an RG. i would be the first at the shop to give that a try.

Ball bearing tremolos like the ZR are "supposed" to stay better in tune than the standard knife edge trems. The main advantage of the ball bearing trems is that they don't wear down .
