Another chord question - help!

Ok, here is the chord

From Low E to High E *F#, A, D, A, C, G

The song is in the Key of G I believe, (not fully sure)

Anyway, my best guess is the chord is a Amin7sus4/F#
Sound close to anyone? *

hehehe, thanx for any help I can get

Jeremy

Another chord question

Jeremy,

It's a D7sus4 chord but you have the third stuck on the bottom causing a real strong dissonance. *A dominant chord doesn't have the 11th tension available as a chord tone theortically but do whatever sounds good to you It's either a D7/F# with the 11th tension on top or a D7sus4 and you can skip that pesky F#

Try moving the F# to G? *Sounds better to me. Definately a dominant chord to my ears though.
Hope I helped a bit...

Another chord question

F# resolves to G, in most cases; at least in Western music that is. *Listen to a little Mahavishnu and everything goes out of wack!

Another chord question

F# usually does lead to G, but with the G on top, it wants to resolve down to F# because that would be a 4-3 suspension of the V7 chord.
