Re: Artificial harmonics

Dunno looks/sounds kind of pinched to me.

Looks like she is playing a note with pinched harmonics, but moving the pick along the string to different positions thus obtaining the desired notes. But at the same time as playing the notes she is "flicking" the tremolo bar to scoop the notes quickly. Very Vai-esque.

So yeh try find the note. Experiment over the string to find the right pitches. Get the tremolo bar flick right. There you go. Sorry couldn't help more with specifics.

Re: Artificial harmonics

She's not holding the bar as she's doing it. Assuming the video is not "guitar-synced", and it doesn't seem like it is, I would say she's doing pinch harmonics at different points on the string (as rgt lover said) to obtain different notes, and is possibly bending/sliding with her left hand.

Re: Artificial harmonics

Hey guys, I don't want to state the obvious but doesn't it just seem to be a few VERY short pick-scrapes? I've heard that technique on a few other tunes. Maybe I'm wrong?

Re: Artificial harmonics

she's not touching the strings with the pick, I think shes lightly moving her hand across the strings to create harmonics in much the same way that I cant.
