Hey guys, I've been looking very hard to find a good set of books/DVD's etc to help me get going in jazz guitar. I've got a good basic knowledge of theory and the modes of the major scale, etc, and I know a few voicings for various chords (mainly 7th chords and a few 9ths). But past that, I know next to nothing about true jazz guitar.
What are some good places for me to start? Every time I look at a jazz guitar book, it is either way to beginner-friendly (beginner as in new to
playing guitar itself), or it has too many unexplained prerequisites (such as being very comfortable with chord inversions, harmonic minor, melodic minor, etc).
