Book Reviews

Hey, I was wondering if anyone has looked/used the following books:
-John Petrucci - Wild Stringdom
-"Guitar World" Presents Private Lessons: With Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, Edward Van Halen, Kirk Hammett, Johnny Winter, Nuno Bettencourt and More Great Artists
-Joe Satriani - Guitar Secrets

Many thanks

Re: Book Reviews

I checked out the Satch book from the library once or twice. It's a great book, and it really gets you to listen to what you're playing.

Wild Stringdom is a great book, better than Rock Disciple in my opinion.

Re: Book Reviews

I like the Satriani "Guitar Secrets" book - if you're into Satch's style, there's a ton of good material there on chord useage, modality, modulation, unusual techniques, whatever. It's a very cool book about how to apply theoretical concepts to the guitar, and brush your technique up a bit in the process.

Wow, I may have to take a goosy at that one then.

I have seen it around before, but have never flicked through it or purchased it.

Re: Book Reviews

I got the Satch book for Christmas along with the Paul Gilbert dvd's (they sell it as a single dvd on amazon). I haven't gotten a chance to go through the book yet but I'm intending on doing it soon.
