chromatic 'ish exercise

here's a little chromatic'ish exercise that I've recently started using that's helped me in some different areas. It's nothing special, but it works on both 'inside' and 'outside' picking.

e----------------------------------------------------8-567---5678-
b----------------------------------------8-567---567------8-------
g----------------------------8-567---567------8--------------------
d----------------8-567---567------8--------------------------------
a-----8-567--567------8--------------------------------------------
e-567------8--------------------------------------------------------

I'm too lazy to write out a descending part but you get the point. Of course it's straight alternate picking in a 16th note pattern, but mixing it up as 16th note triplets or quintuplets can be fun too. I'll load it up as regular notation w/ tab with some other stuff as soon as I make some more up...(I'm sure it's been done, but it's new to me).

Re: chromatic 'ish exercise

As a side note, Troy Stetina's 'speed mechanics for lead guitar' has a ton of useful patterns and cyclic stuff for developing technique. Of course 'rock discipline' is great too. I'm thinking about picking up MI's guitar fretboard workbook for enhancing my knowledge, making my site reading of regular notation a little smoother.
