Classical or Flamenco guitar

Ok, don't boo, hiss me away please, but I was curious if anyone played classical guitar; flamenco-style especially. I'm thinking about getting a Cordoba Flamenco guitar in the future and I know someone must play, if they have the nerve to confess on this forum. I play classical, but no pro yet. I do know a few Sor and Carcassi songs.

Nobody is going to diss you for broadening your musical horizons!!!
Flamenco and Classical are awesome styles to learn but if you really want to get good at it you are going to have to stick to only one at first since both styles are very exacting!!! my Guitar teacher was a great flamenco player he even met Paco de Lucia!!! he taught me a lot about the style but I have not really practiced it1 I am too much of an 80'S rocker at heart and that's what gets most of my playing time!!!
If I may suggest one I'd say go for the Flameco style first it is very fun to play and it is extremely rhythmical!!!

I think I may have attention deficit disorder. I try to focus on one discipline, but it is difficult; my mood changes. I'm trying to focus on electric, but lately I'm wandering again. I do love to finger pick.

I know I would need to seek out a teacher to learn this. Am I doing too much if I take lessons from 2 different teachers? I don't want to give up my cool rock hippie teacher.

nah have 2 teachers, It's always good to learn all you can, and later on down the road if you don't learn it then you'll say to yourself "man i really wish i could go back and time and take those lessons."

What do you want to spend? My friend is a semi-pro Classical player. I can check with him.

As long as you got the cash, there's no reason why you shouldn't. Since you're trying to broaden your horizons, you should pick these up sometime:

Re: Classical or Flamenco guitar

I started out playing guitar by learning classical guitar finger style. I used to have an old Yamaha classical acoustic, which was okay, but I'm sure there are better ones out there. It was from the late 1970's or so, I think, because it was already old when I got it. The action was a bit too high for my taste. Anyway... you'll probably want to play some examples before buying.

When I don't have a pick around, I still play fingerstyle. In fact, I was doing that last night.
