Four finger tapping
We have all heard Eddie VH play that thing, and we´ve fallen to our knees. But it is not that difficult. In fact he makes it look more difficult than it is. He turns his hand around, and uses his fourth finger (that is the pinky) as a damper, when it is in fact easyer to keep your hand just as it is, and use your first finger as ther damper. So instead of what Eddie plays, play this:
B:-5------
G:-----3--
D:--5----
A:-------3--etc. For the first two notes use the 2nd and the 1st fingers on the right hand (not counting the thumb on either hand), for the second two notes use the 3rd and the 2nd fingers on the left hand. Just hold your 1st finger on the left hand across the strings (dont push down on the frets) This is much easier than the way EVH plays it. By the way this is just a C7 chord. Will post more advanced shapes later...
