Rocking in the Free World is by Neil Young and I haven't seen a tab for the G3 version. There's a tab in Guitar Pro 4 format on the mysongbook.com site but it's the original Neil Young version. That would get you started for the basic structure if that helps. I can send you a text file export of the Neil Young tab if you don't have Guitar Pro 4.

Take a crack at it yourself.

Is the performance the same one on the DVD as the CD? If so i might give it a shot over the weekend, buit especially with solos with a lot of bending, you're only really going to get the inflections 110% on if you spend some time working them out yourself.

Re: G3 tab, i know your out there somewhere....

Yeah, what Drew said. You can see a lot of what he's doing on the DVD, fortunately they had a cameraman smart enough to focus on what we really want to see most of the time. My favorite parts of that whole trade-off solo section are Steves part at ~1:17:00 where he scoops into the first note and then chops on the bar while playing legato, it just sounds really cool even if it isn't fast and technical, and Joes part at ~1:17:30 where he's playing legato while muting the strings with his right hand... it's got such a clunky sound you have to love it. The part you're talking about (~1:14:30 or so) is cool and defintely more technical but I usually tend to gravitate towards the cool sounds parts over the fast parts. Maybe that's just my excuse for not being able to play the fast, technical stuff? I know Yngwie's got speed and talent but (I'm gonna fry for this probably) I get bored listening to his stuff pretty fast.

Drew, I don't know if the DVD and the CD are the same but I converted the audio track from my DVD to a 320 kbs mp3 so I could make a disc to listen to in the car/at work (hopefully that doesn't qualify as pirating, I bought the DVD and I don't share the file on the P2P networks). I cut out just the section he's talking about (the whole song is 26mb at 320kbs but that section he's asking about is only a little over 1mb) and can send it to you if you want to try to help him out.

Don't know if you've already worked it out or not but there is a tab for the entire song on mysongbook.com in GP4 format now. I haven't checked it out yet but it has a 5-star (highest) rating from 24 people who've reviewed it.

How did you go about making the audio tracks off of the DVD? I own it as well and I would like to put it on my iPod.

Re: G3 tab, i know your out there somewhere....

I used a video to audio converter program to rip the audio track to one big 320 kbs mp3 then I used an mp3 splitter program to cut out the tracks I wanted.
