I have a question and I think it is a good tool to help EVERYONE who doesn't do it already. Instead of Tab, is actual sheet do-able? just scan a piece of manuscript and post it in a high compression Jpg?
If someone wants me to, I can volunteer to write it, I need the practice, I am WAY out, and I need to get back my sight reading abilities. Email me if you want to co-ordinate.

hmm...in terms of using a staff? *It's possible. *it would require an extensive legend where you would see
o = whole note
@ = 1/2 note
d = 1/4 note
d* = 1/8 note
d** = 1/16 note
or something of that nature. *I promise I will get there though. *The next set of lessons will be intermediate level and we'll begin with sheet music, intervals, inversion, modulation, etc.

Are you a professional teacher ? I have never seen anyone who could explain basic music theory in such simple way !
Keep it going please, your lessons are great.
One sugestions. Maybe you should explain intervals - I didn't notice it in your lessons and I think this knowledge would help.

no, I'm not a professional teacher. *I'm actually just a struggling musician. *I've been playing since I was 9 and actually learned very little theory until I was 19. *I had memorized which notes sounded "good" and how to make songs sound happy or sad or bluesy but never why. * I became interested in Theory and began reading and taking courses. *So I'm lucky to have both sides, due to going so long without theory, I developed pretty good listening skills to go along with an endless appetite for theory. *I'm glad these lessons have helped. *I'll be explaining intervals very soon. *As they require a certain amount of sight reading, I was hoping to cover the staff and note reading first, but don't worry-we'll get there.

Being away from music so long I had forgotten most of the theory that I once new. Some may say that is a good thing (lol).
Your lessons have been a refresher course for me. I had gotten to a point in my playing years ago where thought had left the equation. The ears took over, if you know what I mean. I don't have that anymore, at least not yet.
Your lessons are making me dig deep, like I use to, and discover what makes music tick.
I found myself practicing over some Chic Corea stuff the other day and noticed that I was playing a phrase that was pure harmonic minor. I had practiced the scale for about 5 hours the week before. It got back into my brain and I was just using it.
Thats what your time and effort have done for me and I thank you for it...

most welcome
*I find myself doing the same thing. *I was playing along with some DLR stuff the other day and I realized it was solid Lydian. *Funny how that stuff works
