Gimme Feedback, and I don't mean distortion :) - Are the les

Well, we've gone through 7 lessons and the amount of feedback is dwindling. *Are these helpful? *Do you know this already? *What do you want to see?

feedback please. also i will add a new category and MOVE all lessons in the next few days. Having them in the 'off topic' area makes it possible for them to be overlooked... glen

jem7vwh,
although im a senior theory major and already have covered all this about 4 years ago, *its really cool to see your method of teaching it -- and its great review. * youve done a great job at explaining the things youve talked about, so dont expect that there should be that many questions -- youve pretty much covered the bases of what youre talking about in each lesson. *keep it up man, you can say that you wrote the "lesson section" of jemsite fairly single-handedly, cuz it will become the reference to beginner theory.

The lessons are great! *Thanks for posting them. *

Perhaps the feedback has dwindled because there's so much information to absorb at one time.

Would it be worthwhile to post fretboard diagrams?

I really appreciate you sharing. I have not had time to spend with the lessons, but I will have. I like the idea of moving them so that we don’t have to scan through so many threads to find them.

I suppose I should print them out, but for people that visit in the future it would be nice to have a special place for things like this.

I agree they are cool. I've not been able to get to a guitar so I'm waiting till the weekend. There seems a lot of stuff covered.

I havent been paying as much attention to the newest ones, but it's because I've become totally absorbed in tracking down a cheap TriAxis while online (and it paid off, I found one for $760)
I havent played in a few days, but when I pick up my stuff this weekend and start playing, I'll have the time to go back thru all your previous lessons and learn the nitty gritty *:read:

use the FONT TAG for COURIER ikoncode) to monospace the tablature

[ font=courier ] no spaces at brackets

---7-----12-----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------
-9-------11-----------------------------------------
-9----7---------------9---9-------------7-----------
-7-7---------9--11--------9----------9--7---------7-
--------------------------7-9--11-------5--7--9-----

vs this standard font.

tomizm, nope, it's not a song, it's just a very common chord progression. *It could be a part of almost any song in the key of C. *That tablature Glen pasted in is from the lesson I posted on Soloing Over Chord Changes Part B

the lessons are very cool, keep'em coming.

I have a suggestion:

Since most of all jemsiters have rock/metal backgrounds, it would be really cool to drift a little and discuss some jazz songs and really dissect their stuctures.

take for exemple an easy Jazz standard, discover the tonality, and make an in-depht harmonic analysis, taking each chord and discovering its function, see which scale, triad, inversion and so fits on the given chord.

That would be really cool. I personally still have some doubts about this subject.

I have a metal/rock background and I'm not trying to push the Jazz concepts, but it would be really great if people become more open minded about theory/analysis.

I can even supply some standards for us to analyse
