Good Music Programs

Does anyone know of any schools with really good guitar programs? There is a lot to choose from out there. I'm looking for something very affordable, though. I've been going to a junior college for a few semesters, next year I'll want to transfer to get my Bachelors or Masters. I'll have my associates probably within the next 2 semesters.

I know about MI, Mcnally, Berklee, University of Miami... Those colleges are like $20,000+ a year though. I'm just trying to see if anyone knows a good affordable program. I've been taking Classical, and am sick of it, so I'll probably be looking to going to school for a degree in Jazz. However, I really would like to find a school that may offer Metal/Rock classes like MI. I'm ready to move anywhere, as long as there are a good bit of people(i'm tired of the country). I've been looking at Florida, Texas, and California maybe. I've also been considering Tennessee, and going into country music to make a living. Does anyone have an idea of what I may be looking for? The best i've come up with is probably University of North Texas.

Re: Good Music Programs

UNT has a good program and their One o' Clock Jazz Band is awesome. I lived in Denton as a kid and go to hear some good music there. I haven't been back to Denton in twenty years, but it was a typical college town-- 20,000 people year-round and 50,000 when class was in session.
