How much can you practice?

I guess I practice too much, up to 4-5 hours, and I got tendonitous in my wrists. I was wondering if anyone else has ever gotten tendonitous from playing too much and how long it took them to get over it. Also, any suggestions so that I can avoid getting tendonitous again.

I keep a strict 3-6 hour practice routine. My secret to no pain, go to wal-mart and buy some MSM with Glucosamine(or Chondrotine) vitamins.. take about 4-6 a day. Keeps the arthritis away too. If you already have lots of pain, it may take a few weeks or months to kick in.

Before the MSM I had lots of pain. I had broke my hand during my black belt test several years before I started playing guitar and I had arthritis bad. I couldn't hardly hold a pick... anyway, my suggestions. ALSO though if I feel like I'm doing to much, I'll stop.. I won't keep pushing and pushing, you won't gain anything from it.

There were times when I was coming up, that I practiced about 8-10 hours a day. I found the biggest help to avoid aches was actually ... sleep. Also I always started slowly and warmed up, I've heard that vitamin supplements can help too, ones containing high dosages of gold are good for helping ease arthritis.
