How to practise w/o a guitar

Hey guys,

I just posted this quicky exercise to practise without a guitar over at caparisonforumdotcom and just wanted to get your opinions on it. (that and also share what little guitar knowledge I do know )

http://www.caparisonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=84

It's been something I've been doing for a while when I don't have a guitar but I'm looking for other things I can do w/o a guitar.

(sorry for only posting a link, I included the photos as an attachment over there and have no idea where the photos are located to just post the pics here).

Cheers,

Budd

Re: How to practise w/o a guitar

You know what.. the old guy that showed me this exercise asked me how I would practise without a guitar and I basically told him the same thing, "Air-guitar".

I can't take all the credit for this exercise but it seems that VERY FEW people I ever speak to actually knows how to practise guitar without a guitar. I'm glad my little contribution to the guitar world is a bit helpful.

(We'll call it the "Budd finger exercise" just cause I don't know the name of the old guy I learned this from )

I guess so. The guy passed away a few years ago. I used to see him in the shop I used to manage. I never actually got his name so I just refer to him at "the old guy". Bless his soul for passing on this tidbit of guitar practising know-how.

So his guitar playing/practicing legacy lives on thanks to you..... cool! You ought to try and find out who he was and post about him! Who knows who he may have known or played with!

Good idea.. I gotta go figure out who he was. For all I know he could have been some famous guitar player! Either way, I'm still eternally grateful for that little thing he showed me. This exercise is honestly one of the most useful things I've learned especially when I'm either at work dealing with people and planes or traveling(ie. more work)
