Howe and Kotzen soloing

Hi Guys just wondered if you could help me out. I have been playing 7 years and i can play well, i have been heavily influenced by Gilbert, Vai and Malmsteen, i now find myself moving more into the soloing styles of greg howe and ritchie kotzen, kind of rock fusion, but i don't know where to start. I know my theory and scales, and technical ability isn't a worry, but i was wondering wheat kind of approach they use and any tips on phrasing like them?

Cheers

Beavis
