Just got Speed Mechanics. Few qeustions on how to use it wel

Hi, i just got Troy Stentinas Speed Mechanices for lead guitar and theres a lot of stuff to work through, looks very good. The thing is though im not sure how to use it. The most obviously way would be for me to just randomly pick somthing from say each section but then that wouldnt benefit me would it? As im not playing the same thing for that long.

Could anyone please give me some advice on what to do with the book? I mean, would it be best if i work through the book and say right i wont play anything else untill the first 5 excerxises are perfect, an then move on in a similar way. The problem is though, whats an aceptable speed to work to with each excersise, i dont want to spend too much time on somthing and not be able to do other stuff , but i dont want to stop at say xxxbpm 16th notes and say right thats it , as i may not be getting all i can out of it.

Cheers
