I had a thought the other day, everytime I go into a
guitar shop, I grab a guitar from the wall and play some mindless chords, or start widdling some legato stuff (never tapping!!!)to tryout the guitar.....And it suddnely dawned on me...
For All these years people go into guitar shops and play stairway to heaven which has been banned in some shops, and the guys behind the counter always think you are a loser.....well I went into a guitar shop yesterday to try out another Ibanez and started playing K'm pee du wee on this lovely marshall and all the guys in the guitar shop looked over, then one by one they came over and wanted to help, they all commented and said "did you write that" and made me feel like a guitarist and not some bonehead guy who just strums for the fun of it......
K'm pee du wee is my new Stairway to heaven(even tho I never played it), it is one of those pieces that sounds good just you and a guitar!!
What piece do you play when you go into a guitar shop????????
