I'm right-handed (and play righty oc) and it took me quite a long time to learn technique like legato and such.
I used to do _everything_ with my right hand (I mean everything!), and never really developed my left hand. Then I started to play accoustic guitar; and that changed a bit, but I'm a real fingerstyle man, that was my strength (my right hand...). I never played songs on the accoustic with difficult left-hand things.
Now I'm doing nothing else than play
electric guitar with a pick and my right hand suddenly doesn't seem all that functional anymore. I can really notice the difference of functionalty in my left hand right now (I can even type _a lot_ better).
I think left-handed players could learn righty guitar faster because of their advantage of finger-motor in their left-hand.
That's my story.
