Legato question

I have a problem playing legato at lower strings. *When I pull off my finger sort of plucks into the upper string. I have tried to mute upper strings with some kind of "barre" (if I play *for example 7p3 on B string I put my finger on third fret so that it is lightly touching the E string), but when I do sothere is a ceartain "click" comming out. Coul anyone help me?

Try keeping the palm of your frethand parallel to and almost touching the guitar's neck binding. *

And, of course, always start off slow. *Play it at a speed where you can do it absolutely perfect. *Then work your way from there.

And don't forget that if you're using lots of distortion and /or gain, it will be more difficult to control the guitar. That's why I prefer playing with a little less distortion than most people...
