Lifting the guitar

I'm occasionally sending bars (warranty) to those that try that with their new guitars. There is a *technique* to it. The bar will support the weight, IF, it's manipulated very smoothly. Any jerking motion, or especially if the trem bottoms out, it'll snap. (btw, you have to use tension on the strap to stable the guitar, never try it without a strap on) If you follow the rules of physics you should be ok, break the rules, you break something

thax man I will follow your advice.
Only one question:Only the bar snaps or does the tremolo body is also in danger?

When it snaps it's usually inside the holder so you can't get the stub out, without pulling the trem, the spring, and poking in there with an ice pick, etc. to work the piece out far enough to grab. A pain, but it's not breaking the trem.

Maybe I'm lucky then.....

Four guitar and ten years of lots of abuse, including lots of picking the guitar up and shaking it round in a frenzy - zero snapped bars.....

Nice pic! *Also, another reason to always use a strap, if you break your bar, your beloved axe goes crashing to the floor. *

lol - whats worse; it landing on the floor because of no strap, or it has a strap and swings down to whack you in the balls
