Howdy all. I'm hoping someone might be able to point me in the right
direction here.
I've been dabbling at
playing guitar for about 13 years now. I've put it
down for more years then I've been playing. For a while, when I first
got into playing, I tried out different teachers...spent a few minuts with
them...I even paid for one full lesson.
The only thing I learned, is that most of the teachers (back then) were
more into listening to them play, rather then teaching me to play.
So I'm self taught in technique, and style, but I really can't read music,
tab out music myself, or even write a complete song. I've just got all
these ideas, and sounds, and music in my head...but I don't know how
to get them out on the instrument.
I'm looking for a teacher in the Western Suburbs of Chicago. Wheaton,
Downers Grove, Naperville, Glen Ellen, Oakbrook areas, that can teach
me Music Theory, and help me polish my technique in more of the
Satriani/Vai style. I'm also looking to perfect my rythem playing and
songwriting.
