Looking for Satriani's student's book

Hey guys,

For a while there was a student of Satriani's on Evilbay that was advertising lessons taught to him by Satriani. For $40.00 you got a DVD, book, and backing track CD. Now I cant find it anywhere on Evilbay. Can anyone tell me his name or a website I can go to to get it?

Rikk,

His name is Doug Doppler ..... just type the name in on greedbay, and it will go right to his dvd.

I have it, it's great....he sounds/thinks alot like Satch.

Re: Looking for Satriani's student's book

Chimp,

Doug takes you through a series of mnemonic devices to anchor secret theory techniques into your head....you'll be dreaming these things, trust me.

The guy is probably the one of the greatest teachers I have ever seen....I would say his dvd is = to 1 year of lessons with a great instructor.

How can you go wrong with someone who studied under Satch for 2 years, and has since, had over 1,000 students of his own.

The guy is qualified to all of our un-divided attention.

Hope that helps!

Re: Looking for Satriani's student's book

Guys, for those of you who might just be beginning theory, don't be intimidated.

This dvd is not a "how fast can we play 20 licks dvd"....

We get brief clips of some of Doug's live playing, which is great...but the focus of the dvd is not Doug showing you that he can play 100 mph.

His dvd is a system of learning diatonic theory and harmony.

He is very modest, (like Gilbert) and is very motivational.

This dvd is the equivelent to me, as if Paul Gilbert or Satch themselves put out a theory dvd.

Or another good sign... Doug charges $40 + $5 ship. He's sold over 100 of these, with 100% positive feedback. If people didn't think they were getting bang for their buck, his feedback would read different.

I highly reccommend this dvd. Well worth the money.

Good luck guys!

thats pretty evident in the way its pitched in the auction, its the first DVD or any type of instruction thing ive ever bought because I always wanted to learn rather than get the 100mph aint I great approach...
looking forward to it.

Re: Looking for Satriani's student's book

This DVD sounds very interesting. I was just checking out his site and come across this. Sounds like it will be the second installment in his series.

"I am shooting the last segments of the Whammy Bar DVD this next week and then we capture and edit! I have had SO much fun making this DVD and look forward to finally wrapping it up."

whatisshredding, let us know what you think of it, please.

I have that Doug Doppler DVD too and I also think it is a very good disc. Worth the money IMHO. It's also on Amazon if you need another source.
