Lydian Chromatic Concept - Coud anybody tell me what it is

I was talking to somebody and they said that this might help with my rock playing or whatever. *If anybody knows, let me know because I'm clueless.

Lydian Chromatic Concept

I've never heard of that concept before, though it doesn't sound correct to me. *When I hear the word "Chromatic," I think of utilizing all 12 notes on the guitar/piano, while when I think of Lydian, I think of a scale based off the 4th degree of the major "diatonic" scale. *Never heard of it before, sorry. *

Lydian Chromatic Concept

That sounds really self-contradictory to me too....I agree that becoming well-versed in the uses and applications of the Lydian mode will help you become a better guitar player (as will the mastery of any and all of the modes), but Lydian essentially means "major scale with augmented 4th degree", and chromatic means "play whatever the hell you want to wherever you want to whenever you want to"....at least to me! *
