Me writing a song

So Jim gave me the challenge and I accept. He's right, I have no structured and finished songs so this thread will be me writing a song, from start to finish. And then I assume we will compare my approach to Jims' (if he ever does upload his godly creations).

Stay tuned.

Re: Me writing a song

Right ON!!! Good man Crevis!! I think this could be very benefitial to members. (including yourself) I'm seriously interested in seeing how you approach your song writing.

I will of course post some as well.

I would not look at this as a competition, but rather an educational and or mind opening experience.

It's your thread, but if it's okay with you crevie, It would be nice to see the input and contribution of songs or the writing of songs of anyone who wishes to post their material??

Hey, is there some way I can get in on this challenge? I actually have a new one that's not down yet, just a brainchild if you will...

You just have to explain how you wrote the song.

And or why, etc. This thread could be a good learning tool (especially with all the talent and brilliant minds on this site )

Re: Me writing a song

I can contribute to this as well. I'm currently recording one. It's nearly finished, but finished enough for this exercise. I'll work on getting it up this week. What's the preferred place to upload to? I have a myspace account where a few of my other songs are at.

I knew you would

I just use Youtube and post a link. I'm sure there are other options as well. I've not really messed about with myspace much, but I would assume you could do it from there as well??? You're the rocket scientist

I'll try youtube then. I've never posted there before. Shouldn't be too difficult.

Re: Me writing a song

You'll need a firewire (which I'm sure you have)

BTW - I think maybe we should let Crevie post first since this is his thread, unless he has no objections

Love the title : ME WRITING A SONG!! Great chance for people to share thoughts and knowledge!

Don't be shy folks

Please share!

Re: Me writing a song

my stuff has been online (myspace) for awhile. i think most have heard those. i've got 4 tunes on the page, but i've got a ton of tunes that are 'completed' (i.e., all rhythm guitar parts written, but no melodies, bass or drums).

maybe i should post tunes from my old band since crevis hates instrumetal music :P

Oh come on Crevie!! Are you going to post your song under construction?? This could be a great learning tool for all (yourself included)

If you do not want to it's all good (obviously)

And then I'll just have this to say: I learned a long time ago in a place far far away, that if you are going to talk the talk, you'd best be able to walk the walk!!

Get some nards and post up!! Ask questions as will we all. We are NOT going to shoot you down, but rather learn together. I think it'll do you and everyone else a lot of good!! Some valuable sharing. ~open thy mind lad~

DO IT!! (It'll only help you )
