As a musician, I am dissapointed to see you guys rag on one of the only true musical geniuses of the 20th century. MJ is highly misunderstood, and was railroaded by the media. The world of music as we know it would have been a different place with out him. Hip Hop , Pop and all that type of music owes alot to Michael Jackson. Wasted talent is no joke.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but I don't remember him ever actually being convicted of anything. He was tried and hung by the media, but when real evidence was needed it just wasn't there...

And yes child molesters should get the death penalty.

Yeah, but his little "inner circle" are very adept at only picking children to come stay with him that come from very questionable backgrounds and have a history of things that would basically render anything they or their parents say as not believable. And I firmly believe that selection process is very specific and for a reason. Sadly, I think he is as weird as he is because honestly he has never had a regular life, regular friends or any kind of functional family unit since the earliest childhood. He has been seen as a meal ticket since day one.

But I think the point is, weirdness notwithstanding, that he does have an amazing body of work that has altered modern music as we all know it. Truth be told, if you are playing for a 'pop music crowd', they will likely enjoy an MJ tune or two regardless.

No, I don't think anybody is saying that pedophilia is "ok" if the perpetrator is popular or successful.

But the fact that he quite obviously has some troubling sexual / self-image issues doesn't take away from his music. I can still listen to my favorite MJ tunes and I can still marvel at dance moves like the moonwalk and the "Smooth Criminal" lean. But now and forever my appreciation for his talent will be diminished a little by his bizarre and disgusting behavior.

Dude, I never thought of that...I wonder if it's true, I mean, it sounds absolutely feasable.

Andy, the guy might be a paedo but I recently watched his 83 Motown performance and it was, yes, genius IMO. I know, he doesn't play the guitar etc but he can bust out a tune like the best of 'em.

I just hate the hypocrisy of these situations

When Gary Glitter was brought to light (BEFORE he was found guilty) radio stations came out and said they refuse to play any more of his records. When MJ was brought to light, radio stations still happily play his material.

The difference......GG's era was years ago,his music is very seldom be heard on radio, and he only filled a niche market, so they stood to lose absolutely nothing. MJ on the other is still relevant to the pop world and a multi million selling artist, so they continue to play.

Peoples reactions also differ in different circumstances. If he were to move into normal neighborhood (i know thats not gonna happen, just an example) then people would stop saying "yeah BUT his music is great" and would change to "we don't want that sick perv living near our children".

True, mate. But, no pun intended, things are not black or white.

I don't see the hypocrisy, though. I think it's reasonable to want to protect your kids from someone associated with potential interfering.

Back on topic: That riff is cool but I think it was the last thing MJ produced that I was mildly interested in. Post a sounclip once you've worked it out...I'm sure the feedback will be...um...entertaining

I found the chord - it was the fast key's section that was caousing some problems.

Perhaps moving it to the off-topic area would be a good idea. I'd certanly likr to discuss this more....
