More and more tab sites shutting down

Sorry if this has already been brought up before, but I have been noticing more and more tab sites being shut down due to legalities. What gives? I can see with bootleg songs but song tabs? WTF? Do the artist not have enough fancy cars in the drive? The ppl that download the tabs are the ones buy the sig guitars learn the songs of the ppl that have inspired them. Just my 2 cents

Its not the artists its the publishers who own the songs. The labels who make money of the licensing. The people who sell song books and tab books. The artists usually get screwed on the publishing deals. Thats why if you ever sign a record deal absolutely dont give then publishing .. Youll get screwed out of millions in royalties

I know Guitar Pro went down, but what other places have gone under? (I owe my entire musical knowledge of guitar and bass to guitar pro, so to see it out of commission really blows!)

powertabs.net is still going strong.

I hopw it never gets shutdown because it is and always has been the best tab site

Tabs I can just about do without. I'll have to just buy the book. Although i really like using Guitar Pro

Ultimate-guitar.com is still up, and its because its a Russia-based site (or that's at least what the article on their site addressing this said). So if you don't mind the pop ups and supporting communism, then this site would be it.
