NST-anyone use it here?

I was just listening to a Bert Lam's CD where he plays some of Bach's Preludes on a steel string. As a student of Fripp he used the (N)ew (S)tandard (T)uning. Anyone use it here? I would imagine that you would have to use a pretty light gauge on the top, and heavy on the bottom. Tuning is C G D A E G. Those that use it, thoughts? later, tobe

when detuning, i def. prefer to use standard string intervals.. curious why it alone is the 'new standard tuning.' Standard D is very common

Thats what Fripp called it when he "invented" it. He calls "standard" tuning (O)ld (S)tandard (T)uning...

Actually no tuning, or number of strings, or number of courses was standard until the 19th century.....any way...any one use the NST?
