Paganini's 5th caprice

I need the tablature or music to Paganini's 5th caprice. Does anyone have the correct tablature and/or music? Also, I can transpose it from violin to guitar if anyone has that music.

Theres a powertab of it on www.powertabs.net

There used to be a tab on guitarworld's website in Yngwie's column "Appreciating the world first shredder" but those bastards took the whole lesson section down

Guitar World ran Yngwie's transcription of it in 3 pieces a couple years ago.

Yeah, it's a really tough piece to play fast and keep clean. Right now, I have to choose one or the other, because I can't do both.

If you go up to a local music store where they have a good selection of sheet music (local Sam Ash store here), you can go to the Violin section and they should have transcriptions of all 24 caprices.

I've got the violin music (cos I'm a violinist!). If you still want it I'll scan in the caprice and email it to you...

Sorry for the late reply to this - been moving house and had no internet access for a few weeks.

As Hotmail accounts are tiny, I have stored the pages online.
Right click to Save As... or just left click to view. If you want any of the others scanning, just let me know. Numbers 1 and 2 in particular would be very good for technique (sweeping, string skipping, picking)

Thanks Spag.

Tabbing it up now for anyone who wants it.

Warning intro requires 29th fret guitar or high A string. :P

Hey thanks for posting the music, but I went to New York beginning of August and found all 24 caprices at a Sam Ash store in Manhattan.

The fatest... that would be Whingie Manglebeen (doughnut anyone?)
The fastest, however, I don't know about!

Itzahk Perlman's recording is a good one but his playing is so predictable and safe (IMHO). The difficulty in the violin version is the bowing. It's not down up down up but rather 3 ricochet down bows then 1 semiquaver up bow for each group of 4 semiquavers (check the scan out). Trying to get that even (rhythmically and dynamically) is unbelieveably hard. However, if done correctly, it's very very very hard to tell if a person is playing with the correct bowing or just using seperate spiccato. Many people cheat and go for the easier seperate spiccato!
Another example of cheating is Flight of the Bumblebee - many wind players slur great swathes of notes together when to play it as it's intended to sound, each note should be separately articulated (fast double-tongued). However with that example, it's easy to tell which is which when listening!
