Playing with a Violin Bow (Or any kind of bow not an EBow)

Has anybody ever played around and got good at the violin bow on a guitar. I know Jimmy Page did it and stuff be he more or less hammered onthe gutiar with it. Has anybody ever perfected this becuae I'm eaer it try it out on Friday when I have my gig.
