Plucking with fourth finger on right hand

You hold the pick with 1st and 2nd fingers, you tap with your 3rd finger and now you´re gonna pick with your 4th finger! Confusing? Here´s the thing. When you´we tapped a note with your 3rd finger, instead of using the pick to play the 1rst note on the next string, you use your 4rth finger to pluck it upwards. This is wery difficult to do but I promise it is worth it, and it doubbles yout speed.
Anyhoo here´s a pentatonic example in Am:

I'm skeptical of what you say. I think that if you have a good technique, using your pinky won't make you any faster.

And you say hold the pick with your first and second fingers. I don't see the point in that either unless it's the way you've learn't to play. However I can't see you having a very good picking technique without using your thumb.

If you are going to hybrid pick, wouldn't it be more sensible to hold the pick "normally" and use your middle to tap and your ring to pick ala Zakk Wylde?
