Guitar Pro will import Power Tab, at least the current registered version will. I've imported Power Tab files into Guitar Pro many times.

Re: PowerTab >> GuitarPro
Does anybody know any sites where you can still get guitar pro files (or power tab if GP can import them)
mysongbook.com is shut down
because of the copyright problem

911 Tabs
appears to be up and running as of a few minutes ago. While there are some links at this site that will lead you to mysongbook.com, there are many that will not.
BTW, not to get OT but regarding the copyright issue, is this occuring because of the tab books that artists are trying to sell? I can see a parallel between music "sharing" and tab "sharing" here. Personally, I wouldn't have a problem paying for the tabs I want as long as I was guaranteed accuracy in them.

Re: PowerTab >> GuitarPro
I think that goes for a lot of people. That and the fact that maybe the songs they would like aren't officiallly tabbed.

It's a copyright issue for the music and the words. But, from what I read, it was primarily where lyrics were concerned; people could get lyrics without paying for them. The RIAA is greedy.

Try it again, I just pulled up the site with no problem. I have occasionally got the "page not found" error or whatever, but it's usually temporary...probably their server.

Re: PowerTab >> GuitarPro
You can get to the page, just can't download artists tabs. Only original work.

Re: PowerTab >> GuitarPro
If you use bit torrent you can download a pretty big archive full of guitar pro tabs. Closing down tab sites is BS.

Re: PowerTab >> GuitarPro
I prefer powertabs but use guitarpro mainly because i've downloaded the archieve and use it for my lessons quite a bit. I prefer the powertab app as it looks a bit more minimalistic and less cartoony.

Re: PowerTab >> GuitarPro
Love GP. Been using 911tabs since mysongbook's demise.
Makes me sick how greedy these big companies are. People making this stuff up by ear should not be fighting against the law.
