Recording Schools and Certificates (In LA)
I'm not quite sure if this is the proper forum for it, but my question posed to Jemsiters is this: In looking for a career in music recording, are certificate programs worthwhile? I'm looking at some institutes in LA that offer certificate programs in recording engineering, and I'm curious as to if this is the way to go. Does a Journeyman Certificate in Recording hold any weight? Will these places be able to help me find a job when I'm done?
I was looking at the Music Institute of Technology in LA, but are places like this worth the money? Are there better ways to jump into the field? I'm specifically looking at the Los Angeles area, but any help would be much appreciated. Are there any posters working in this field that can offer helpful advice?
