Rhythm guitar


How is the best way to practise to become a great rhythm guitarists?
Help me whit all you can think of.

Rhythm guitar


I guess I would buy a metronome and play to a steady beat. That would definately help. When your ready for leads a 4 track is cool because you can record a rhythm and tear a lead all over it. Also, another thing you should think about it doing some singing. I wouldn't hire a rhythm guitarist unless he could do something else too, like sing or play keys or something. AIM HIGH, YOU OWN A JEM!!!

Rhythm guitar


I'd say playing along to a drum track/ metronome and making sure you are tight and don't float. If you have the luxury of playing with a good tight drummer then this will do absolute wonders for your time keeping as well.

Rhythm guitar


On the other side of being a rhythm guitarist, play around with different chord shapes you might pick up from different songs, move them around, and put them together. Sounded great when I did it by accident the other day
