Scales and Modes - help needed

Hi guys.

I quite recently decided to learn more than just the pentatonic scales and set out to buy a good book. I was advised to get 'Scales and modes for guitar' by 'Cliff Douse'. I have been looking throught his book and there are Loadsa scales in there. However some people i have been speaking to recently say a lot of these scales are simply rong!!!

Can somone set me straight on this? should i bin the book? if so is there anopther book anyone can reccommend or are there any websites that anyone can reccommend that show various modal scales etc?

im expecting a lot of :argue: about this because when i have asked people before no one seems to agree about this book, or maybe people are just strange and arguementative where im from:sarcasm:.

:help: *please

Cheers

It's not technically a "scale" book, but if you want a book that covers essentially everything in the correct way, check out the Berklee Series by William J. Leavitt. *Vai swears by it and so do I....also, a book called Chord Chemsitry is a great book for chords and how they are formed...I think you can find em all on www.amazon.com
