Strange breakthrough with my picking...

Ok, I was looking for a plectrum before and found one in my back pocket. I'd obviously been sitting on it funny because it was bent into a curve. Since it was the only plec I (thought) I had, I started playing with it. I then got distracted and had to walk away from the guitar, I come back and find another perfectly straight plec in my pocket... I play with that for a while, and notice that my speed picking was far more cleaner with the bent pick!

Just give it a try and see if it makes any difference. Maybe I've had too many long nights or something I'm gonna try this over the next week or so.

That really makes no sense how a bent pick is making your playing cleaner haha.

Guess this means you've holding your pick wrong all these years and and now you know what to do

I think it has to do with the angle that I'm comfortable holding the pick at versus the best angle for attacking the strings for that style. You get both with them being bent

Well I think a bent pick will give you a bit of an edge in tremolo (Fast picking)
because you more than likely position the pick in an angle which enables you to play faster but not necessarily cleaner. I tend to alternate between angled and flat picking and that seems to work for me ok but I definitely like the feel of a broken in pick vs a new one. Do whatever works for you mate!!!

DON'T try this naked......as it may result in severe embarassment at trying to explain to a doctor why you want him/her to remove a plectrum from your back passage
