Tapping - right hand muting

hi, i know this may be somewhere else, i tried searching so sorry if its in a lesson already!

I wanted to see what people do about muting unwanted strings when they start tapping, i tap with my middle and ring fingers and anchor my thumb on the neck most of the time.. ive cut down unwanted noise using my right palm but its still not as clean as id like. Any tips??

I tap with my middle finger and mute unused strings with my palm.

I don't consider myself an expert but I would advise anyone not to anchor their fingers on the body of the guitar because what if you want to tap lower on the neck?? What I do is I mute it with my right hand wrist while I tap...I think Steve does it that way but I'm not sure.

hope that helps

It really depends on what you are doing at the time! I use both left and right had damping, depending on the pattern. The only answer is to work out the tapping pattern then see what works.

that does help 7, i dont always anchor my hand on the neck, only in fixed positions.. ive tried using the wrist more than the palm and it feels strange but works better!
