the pitch axis theory: how does it work?

hello,

great fan of Satch I would like to know how the "pitch axis" theory works... I found a couple of videos on youtube by Satriani but: english not being my mother tongue + bad audio = I didnt get it...

Does anyone have a good link explaining the concept behind please?

actually: I would like to learn his style so I would be interested in some hints on what to look out for (scales, modes...)

thanks!

Satch seems to like using the Lydian scale abit, so i'd suggest you start off getting to know that one really well.
Listen to "Flying In A Blue Dream" to hear the Lydian at work.
