Theory books without a guitar

I'm going to be on vacation for a week in august. We're going to be doing a lot of traveling and I need something to occupy my time. I was wondering if there were any theory books I could get that I don't need a instrument for. Like something with a cd that shows what each mode would sound like. and something that is very well explained. A book with a lot of things to memorize and all that, but not much to do physically on a guitar.

I ended up going to borders today. I got "the idiots guide to music theory." It looks really good actually and its made for non musicians too, so i shouldn't get confused on anything. i'll let you know how it is in a couple weeks.
