mostly lydian that spacey dreamy scale
he uses exotic scales too from time to time like indian and japanese scale
he rarely uses harmonic minor he uses natural minor scales. he uses major a lot too and chromatic once a while

basically, there is not one magic scale (unless your yngwie ) , so learn it all.

i mean every guitarist has their trademark sounds..

Santana is the Dorian Doodler
Vai the Lydian Lover
John Petrucci the Mixolydian Metaler
Yngwie the Harmonic/Melodic Minor Sweedish over weight fat ponce

but it's not harmful to know all the different scales and modal sounds you can apply to your playing, but I think most people find there own niece eventually.
