I just tried that guitar/ass thing with my friend's Jem, cause if Vai does it it must be the real deal. I'm sure that as I inserted it I let out a few harmonic squeals of my own, but they paled in comparison to the squeal my friend let out when he saw his Jem hanging out of my ass.

Cheers for the tip Cid, it's changed the way I play guitar, but now I have to work on my fingering.

Yeah, if you like totally want to kill the whole purpose of cramming it up there in the first place. It's the...ahem..."debris" that helps the strings to sing out like mystical alien bells.

It's part of the whole theory behind "light without heat". Jeez. You people need to read up on your Vai and get the facts straight.

I hear Vai's going to have a song on his next album called "Poopy Strings". It'll be in 836/9 time.

But in the end, it's the Fernandes Sustainer. It's got a second harmonic switch (i think it naturally produces the 5th?), in addition to the first switch that turns it on.
