I had A Song For George down pretty well at one time but its been a long time since I've even tryied it. I always get out of practice with the song I need to retune for.

I have learned and have forgotten most of Zap, Cliffs of Dover, Trademark, Song for George and Desert Rose. I had all of them except Desert Rose nailed at one point, and had Desert Rose close, but I have come to the conclusion that its actually impossible to play that song perfectly.

Re: What Eric Johnson songs can you play?

I can only play the main theme of Cliffs of Dover, 'cause I learned it just beforse I sold my Strat. It ain't easy to shred past the 12th fret on a pure classical y'know.

Zap, Cliffs Of Dover, Desert Rose, Trademark, Nothing Can Keep Me From You, Righteous and East Wes off Ah Via Musicom.

Venus Isle (just the solo so far), SRV, Manhattan, Camel's Night Out and Pavilion off Venus Isle, I started to learn When The Sun Meets The Sky actually.

Various other songs of his too. Eric Johnson's music is my favorite music to learn, I have both books and I love them.

Re: What Eric Johnson songs can you play?

i messed around and never finished East Wes and i butcher the intro to Cliffs in the middle of my Eruption solo onstage. i used to know most of Cliffs but i couldn't get close enough to his playing to actually say i could play it.

Re: What Eric Johnson songs can you play?

Last year went to Willow Creek conference in Chicago. One of my instructors was a guy named Randy Pearce. This is the same gentleman who played guitar in Stephen Curtis Chapmans band for 12 years. I watched this guy play Cliffs of Dover note for note while discussing the benefits and physics of sweep picking. It was amazing!!!!!! I saw Eric Johnson with Satch in April and he didn't play it as well as Randy did....go figure. This guy was insane, GIT grad, it blew my mind. It just goes to show you what can be accomplished with diligence. This guy was way into Eric Johnson.....a complete freak!!!!!! I loved it, it was inspiring.
