When you get nervous while playing what happens?

During my performance test with my guitar instructor yesterday, I got a little nervous during one piece and my fret hand started shaking like it normally does when I'm nervous while playing. He said this was odd because usually people's pick hand shakes. So I'm wondering now...

When you get nervous while playing, for whatever reason, what happens that you can't control?

standard animal reaction to stress, adrenaline pumps muscles get more tense your more on edge, that sort of thing. We had an hour talk about it in my ap bio class one day.

My mouth starts moving. I've seen this happen in some professional players too. I think it might have been Gambale.

My hands get sweaty and my heart pounds and I get butterflies in my stomach, but my hands don't shake much.

my hands are always sweaty so i can't tell if they get more sweaty if i'm nervous. The thing i usually do when I'm nervous actually is get tense in my shoulders/neck and then I end up having to move my neck around or else it will tense up and lock in like one position

hahaha well most of the time they are sweaty And I wipe down my guitars after I play them even if I didn't have sweaty hands so I think it would be fine if i had gold hardware. Just if i did tarnish the gold i have an excuse to get black hardware

The trick I've found for me when I ever perform at a larger outdoor venue is I really try to get into what I'm playing and as I go into a heated/inspired solo I scream as a release and afterwards I feel relaxed and just fine. This of course can create issues depending upon where and what your playing.
