Re: Writers Block!

All my ideas are stale, and i need some kind of refreshing, i need more chordal knowledge, just power chords all the time just sound the same to me.

lol, something that wont let me make music, what do you guys suggest? I'm really into dream theater, satriani, and vai. But the song i'm trying to make is more of a song with singing more than a instrumental.

Re: Writers Block!

Try taking a chord that you usually use and change a note or two to get some different sounds that you normally don't use. Another trick is to pick up a different guitar from the one you normally use. If I get in a rut on my electric then I will pick up my acoustic and feel inspiration. Change up your routine. Try some droning notes with other harmonies. There are a bunch of ways to break out of the box.

And what's his block? Although on second thought, maybe it's better not to ask that question.

Re: Writers Block!

I posted a clip of the song, tell me any improvements, my tone sucks, i'm just playing through a practice amp.

BTW: It's just a rundown of the song, not really the full length.
