Yankee Rose
Anyone have accurate tab for this?
Also, what other songs would be good songs for an 80's tribute band...
thanks

Can't go wrong with
Van Halen
songs
. If you want it a bit cheesy, then some Poison or Mötley Crüe wouldn't be bad either.

Re: Yankee Rose
Ya, were doing Beat it.....Love the solo on that.....hard to sing though, I am trying to be the singer till they say, thATS IT!!!
And my guitarist/keyboardist, isnt an expert at either....Definatley isnt a shredder on guitar..I can hold my own on guitar, but cant play elaborate parts while singing...
So it kind of sucks, what I need is a really good guitar player who can play keyboards really well as well....
Kind of limits what Im trying to do. Maybe as I get some gigs, and some type of following, I can get someone better....
We are sticking to the danceable stuff though....stuff the girls may like as well, and stuff that people will hear they will be like Ohhh...i forgot about this one!!
Here is the list so far...
Sweet Child O’ Mine Guns and Roses
Don’t You Forget About Me Simple Mind
Purple Rain Prince
Add it Up Violent Femmes
Cars Gary Nueman
Highway to Hell AC/DC
Higher Ground Stevie Wonder/ RHCP
Every Breath you Take The Police
Should I stay or Should I go The Clash
Lets Go The Cars
867- 5309 Tommy Tutone
Fight for your right Beatsie Boys
Beat It Michael Jackson
You Shook me All night long Ac/DC
Wild Thing Tone Loc
Little Red Corvette Prince
My Perogative Bobby Brown
Need you Tonight INXS
Money for Nothing Dire Straights
A view to a Kill Duran Duran
I Ran Flock Of Seagulls
Ice Ice Baby Vanilla Ice

Re: Yankee Rose
Where's The Ramones?! Add 'Sedated' and 'Beat on The Brat'
You could add 'Twistin' by the Pool' or 'Expresso Love' by Dire Straights, as well. Great tunes, eay to play.
You could add 'Spirit of Radio' by Rush and something easy by Genesis as well, since you have a keyboard player, like 'Mama' or Misunderstanding' or 'Follow You, Follow Me'
I'd also say skip 'Ice ICe Baby' and do Bowie/Queen's 'Pressure' instead if you like that song in the first place.

Re: Yankee Rose
Some Alice Cooper or Ozzy Osbourne's Bark At The Moon.
What about Rosanna or Africa from Toto? Those songs are straight from the 80's.

Re: Yankee Rose
Hehe check out Velveeta... they are literally like the ultimate 80s cover band, it's what they do for a living. They are one of the most fun bands I've ever seen and always pack the house wherever they're playing.

And of course their song list:
