Having over-analyzed travel expenses for several weeks now, I've determined it will cost me roughly the same to drive from Cinci to Orlando (counting gas $ and hotels) as it will to fly from Cinci to Orlando. My tradeoff then became do I want to drive and thus be able to take more gear/guitars but take more vacation days from work in order to do so. At this point, I'm ready for a road trip, so I think I'll be driving from Cinci to Orlando. I'll probably drive 5-6 hours Wednesday night and make up the rest of the trip on Thursday. Coming back, I'll probably split the driving time equally between Sunday and Monday.
Here's the ride:
Plenty of room for gear--I'll probably have the back seats folded down to squeeze in as much junk as possible.
Here's the question: Is there anyone along the (rather long) stretch of I-75 between Cinci and Orlando that's going to Jemfest? If you are, you can hitch a ride with me, and I'll only ask you pitch a few bucks my way for gas money and bring a few cool CD's to listen to in the car.
