I won't be there............ again :'(

well, after scrimping and saving my ass off, to get to Jemfest, I called the travel agency today.

On yahoo, to fly from Calgary to Orlando works out to $291US (just under $400 Canadian) which was not an issue.

By the time the travel agent had added all the airport taxes and surcharges, GST, and service charge, my $400 flight was $876. Not to mention, that to get that rate, I have to leave on the 25th, and return on the 31st, which means 6 nights in a hotel.

At any rate, I just can't swing it again this year. Next year I will be there come hell or high water, if I can't fly there I'll drive, (which I would do this year but I can't take that much time off, it's a 5 day drive each way).

So, I hope everyone has a great time at Jemfest, I hope to see you there next year.

A rather dissappointed and pissed off littlegreenman.

Check Expedia.ca.

Another option would be to get a cheap commuter flight on Tango or Jetsgo to Toronto, then pick up a cheaper Toronto-Orlando fare.

It could cost a bit less, and with more flights into and out of Toronto, you'll have more flexibility.

Travel agents, for the most part, are not very resourceful.

have you considered hookin up with somebody in a less-expensive city to fly to what has an empty seat in their car? you could drive together from say....new albany, Ohio or Houston TX. Would that help?

Somebody help this guy out!!! Maybe he'll exchange goods for a ride
