This was my first one, and I was very grateful to have something like this to go to. Thank you very much to everyone for being very open to me and my parents...I really appreciate it.

Re: Jemfest 2005- June 24-25 Orlando, FL
It was awesome! All the artists blew me away. However seeing
Rob Balducci
perform was the best part. Everything was awesome except the girl winning the signed Jem and not knowing how to play the guitar at all! What a bummer a rule should be set that you have to at least know a little how to play to win it. Oh well hopefully that doesnt happen next year. Thanks for putting on an awesome concert.

Hey everyone. I just got back home about 1/2 hour ago. Not bad for a 14 hour drive. I'm sure Kevan's still on the road.
I need some rest and will post details soon!

Re: Jemfest 2005- June 24-25 Orlando, FL
Finally! My recent self-employment afforded me a chance to make it back to Jemfest. I asked the boss for a long weekend and I said yes. That went so well, that I asked the company accountant for a raise, but I said no. Anyway...
Besides all the great performers, one of the coolest things for me is meeting all the great people. I just didn't have the free time to chat with everyone I wanted to meet, but the folks I did talk to really helped make it an awesome weekend for me. There are always things beyond our control that bother certain people about the event, but I think it's a really good thing and I hope it goes on and grows for years to come.
The music business does not help much to expose people to the high caliber of talent you find at Jemfest. I believe it is a unique event that showcases some players that deserve a lot more attention than they presently get. With greater attendance and lots of help on future Jemfests, maybe we can all play a role in changing that and helping to preserve a genre of music that everyone should be exposed to.

Talent not required to enter into the drawings, and with as much money as the VWH raised this year nobody should have a problem with winners that can't play, or players that can't win. It's all about the event, and raising a little dough for MANF too
Nice seeing everybody!!

Re: Jemfest 2005- June 24-25 Orlando, FL
Hey Ya..
I wanted to just say thanks to all of those who helped get this great event happening and also to those who have helped me !!
Bill, Gabe, Kevan, The Oakman, Kurt, Rich Harris for helping me with each guitar I have gotton so far!! and for helping with jemfest each year! all the wonderful players who performed this weekend.. It was awesome and such an inspiration to see such talented musicians.
Xtra thanks to all the great fans of guitar and music who attended and supported this charity event!! and the musicans who performed. Thanks for supporting me and purchasing my new CD "The Color Of Light" I am so glad it was well received, please give me your feedback and let me know your thoughts...by visiting
www.robbalducci.com/forum
I have to thank Peter Gusmano-Dialed In Entertainmnet, all at Ibanez and Hoshino for there wonderful guitars, Paul Cornford and Cornford amps.. for sending down the best guitar amplifier in the world!, George L's, Dimarzio, Morley, D'addario and Chris at Audio resources, Robert Keeley. Without the support from these awesome companies I would not be able to create the music that I do... they go hand in hand with me being creative..... lol or trying to be creative!
I got to see some old friends and make some new ones which is whats best about performing at Jemfest..
It was great to see Ken Burch.. had a lot of fun jokin around about my crazy ideas... mmmmmmm Ken... I will soon be working on that song.. Bowl of Milk hahhaha lol...
It was so cool jamming with
Eric Sands
on that special song I renamed... Shave The P- - - y hahhaha lol

meow, baby.
I had such a great time at Jemfest. I'm glad I got to meet some people that I've corresponded electronically with. Eric Sands and his lovely wife, Rich Harris,
Bob Oakman
,
Brian Calvert
, to name a few. Great music and fun times.
Now if only I hadn't gotten sick from that last meal. Yeah, the ol' IHOP got me with the Philly Cheese Steak Stacker. Must have been some bad meat or something. I spent the rest of the day sleeping and puking, and I'm still dehydrated.
Much thanks to everyone. BTW Rob, wondering how much work it would take to create pornland.com? Some interactive flash movies.... Could be funny, or sick, or both.
Ken
Added comment: I can remember winning a guitar when I was in high school, and I wasn't all that good of a player. Her money was the same as everyone else's, and the look on her face was priceless. That's what Jemfest is all about. I did tell her to put it away for a year or so, until she got used to owning a guitar and what NOT to do (falling off stands, sliding off of where it's leaned, hitting armrests while sitting in chairs, etc).
Anyone who doesn't think a person like that deserved to win it should put their money where their mouth is and enter the raffle to lessen the chance
