Jemfest Tone!

The Great and talented Ricky Garcia is helping me organize gear for Jemfest. Besides donating what he has, he has suggested putting up a page on his site with a list of “needs” and “haves”. *That way everyone can see where we are at and if donating gear, can be reminded of their responsibility.

The room consists of 3 hotel conference rooms connected. We don’t need massive sound, just enough to overcome stage volume so mixing is easier.

The console will be 24 to 32 channels (still working on getting that), so all the bands can have a sound check and be miced and ready for their set. I am hoping that we won’t have to mic up a different drum kit for every set, but if we do I want to be prepared.

Between Ricky, myself and Kevan we have a bunch of mics. I intend to buy or rent a console. Speakers, power-amps, a snake and stage monitors are the biggest needs. They will probably be rented in Orlando. Lights would be nice too, but may not warrant rental expenditure.

More as we begin to get our poop together on this…

Hey, guys - how about an original backdrop, compliments of Chance Wolf, better known to the Jemfest folks as Will MacAodhagain? *He doesn't have much in the way of equipment that would be of help in a situation like this, but he'd be happy to put together a backdrop for use at Jemfest - and it would become the property of Jemfest. *If you're interested, scream, and I'll contact you with his e-mail address so you can hash out the details. . .he has plenty of time since the event isn't until June, but he'd need and want feedback as to what you're looking for design-wise.
