Jemfest Tone! - I’m not talkin’ Peavey Column speakers.

Hi, My name is boB. I have asked for and received the blessings of the powers of Jemfest 2002 for the responsibility of organizing gear for the stage. If I am successful, sound and lights WILL be AWESOME this year... For the many super talented acts.

June will come quickly. As I write I am very near to purchasing a 32 channel, 8 buss mixer. Mics and cables are covered. Speakers and some power amps, house and monitor, will likely be rented. Etc, etc….

In the very near future I will be asking people near to Houston or Orlando or are driving down to the fest for gear donation. After I collaborate with Gabe, Kevan and Bill, I will come up with a specific list of needs. Gear will only be used during the weekend of the fest and returned, unless someone wants to donate something to be owned by Jemfest Inc. In that case it would be tax deductible.

An early assessment sees a need for the following…

Electronic cross-over (s), power amps, mic stands and stage monitors.

More info to come… Thank you.

I have (1) mic stand, and (3) SM-58-type mics.
I can bring the Trashcan 4-track, if you have a use for it. *:-)

Bob doing sound. *Ahhh...now I can relax.

I'm planning on driving down in what is essentially a 2-seat car. *So my space is limited, much unlike last year. *However, I'll bring what I can. *I have some mics/stands/cables, can bring some amp heads, and a few other things. *If anything is needed post here and I'll see if I have it and can fit it.

I will most likely be flying unless I can get a ride on the Orient Express, in that case I'll bring my whole friggen rig if you want. Otherwise, I'm just bringing my EB JP7 to annoy Kevan. arty:

How about a Marshall head as a power amp for the monitors?

Seriously, I'll be bringing 3 half stacks for general useage, along with the legendary Jemfest Pignose with original 4 year old batteries.

I'll see what I can do on power amps through endorsements.

Thanks boB! *But someone is going to have to take over the sound for you when you play Jibbob!

Since the guys and myself may have a little problem lugging our stuff over the pond and my 747 is in the garage...we might need to borrow some stuff....

...I might bring a little rack over...so...
I can let you know details over email of stuff we might need...

just upfront we will need...

three eight foot high pods capable of fitting a bloke and a guitar in them...
a 19" stone monument...
several dwarves who are good at dancing...
a large skull...
a couple of electric violins I can rub together at high volume during the two hour solo
...um...

and I can say is...

HELLO CLEVELAND!!

Gabe, Jibbob? Last time was embarrassing enough. :idunno:

I’ve got my fingers crossed for some endorsements. Hopefully someone like Ibanez or Steve Vai will loan us a backdrop too. We need to cover that lame looking Hotel conference room wall if we want nice looking video.

Simon, I wouldn’t worry. There is gonna’ be a variety of guitar rigs there. Besides Gabe’s family of amplifiers, there will be the stuff brought by the acts and attendees and I will bring my Rivera, POD and Marshall.

I am paying attention to what you all say you can borrow us for the fest. Thank you... I will respond as soon as I figure out what, exactly we need. I am trying to exhaust all my resources before I lean on you guys.

I just found a stage lighting controller that used to be in our old sound stage. It was in the trash corner of the machine room. I think I can take it.

Yes, I'll be there

Yes, I'll be playing

Yes, I'll be bringing my rack

No, I won't be bringing my cabinet.

Yes, I can bring my Boss BR-8 8 track digital recorder.

So, to recap, Ken needs a cabinet and can provide the means to capture the event. Bob, are you familiar with the BR-8?

Not familiar with the BR-8, but I imagine tracking with it is fairly simple. You push the buttons on it for me and I’ll let you use my 4X12 cab.

I am stoked that you will be joining us! arty:

Only problem is that there in only one input source, so the mix will have to be right before it goes to the recorder. If this will work, I'll bring it. If not, perhaps someone who's local (or close enough) has an ADAT. Perhaps Eric Sands?

I have MDR's, a MUTO 828 PC interface for my laptop and a Yamaha MD8.

I'd be willing to bring any or all to record. Just let me know.

Jeffrey - I'll be renting a trailer to haul gear for the event. *So if you fly we can always haul whatever you want to bring for you.
