I suppose you'll be wanting an engineer again...

Maybe next year I won't have to fix the rig on the day....

I'm closing this thread temporarily as per the JEMfest organisation's request until further details are known to those who need to know them.

It'll get reopened when those in charge of JEMfest UK know more about next years event and will be more able to respond to comments and suggestions

Thanks for your patience guys

I missed the previous jemsfest... This time I hope i'll be here... I saw all the pictures and I regret I wasn't there...

My idea for the next one is having a "technical spot" where all jemfesters could repair or set up his guitar with a "Rich-like" guy to help us???

Sorry if it was already like that before but if it was not, what do you think of my idea???

JS

PS : I'm not against the "girls on the cage" idea
PS2 : Hope you understant my idea, my english gone bad this last 3 weeks, i was in France!

always a tricky one with the international artists as the expense comes into it, but the one downside i found last year was the lack of 'aliveness' not sure if thats an real word or a murry walker special.
its great to have the bigger international names come over and don't get me wrong it is greatly appreciated andvery welcome. the down side is that they can't bring there touring bands with them. i found that although excellent in technique, 'life' was missing from the perfomances on a whole. playing to backing tracks is sadly neccesary but just not the same. i did find the life and power of the first jemfest UK to be far better. its difficult to know how to address this without a whole lot of expense.
also the venue was pretty good, but did you see that hall upstairs?? now that would be cool. we'd need a 'name' or names to get that place filled.
again, its an observation and not a critisium. and is my personal opinion.

btw, sorry for my english, i havn't just come back from france, i'm was rubbish at english in school.

keep it real.

OK, I'm gonna sound like a real old fogey for this, but it's too loud. To the point of it distorting, and not in a good way, in a "my ears can't make out what's being played" way

Maybe that's the acoustics of the room or just a whole day's worth of rock I don't know.

Other than that I loved the whole thing, I also liked the way that the trade stands and guitar gallery were out of the way of the stage so you could browse the guitars and chat with other jemsiters, or go and watch the bands.

I'm personally more interested in meeting other folks rather than having a huge act steal the show. I'd rather see you guys play at a jemfest than have metallica come and headline. Small but perfectly formed maybe ?

Trade stands would be great maybe a car boot sale for members too, if they have semi decent guitars to sell? (like say JEMs or JSes etc... I'd rather not have jemfest overcrowded by 240 yamaha pacifica 112s on sale from folks looking to shift their beginner guitar)

anyway, that's it for now
